Milestone 5+ (Ongoing): Quarterly Maintenance

  • Estimated Delivery: Ongoing, quarterly renewal
  • Focus: Protocol compatibility, security patches, community support
  • Deliverables / Value Metrics:

Acceptance Criteria

Per the template framework introduced in PR #258, acceptance is based on demonstrated ecosystem value, not artifact delivery alone. Each milestone above is bound to a measurable adoption gate (external developer feedback, NuGet downloads, named external integrations, GitHub engagement) — not a CI-passing or feature-complete checkbox.

The Tech & Ops Committee will evaluate completion based on:

  • Ecosystem-value gates met for each milestone (see per-milestone deliverables — each ties funding to measurable adoption)
  • Deliverables completed as specified for each milestone
  • Demonstrated functionality and operational readiness
  • Documentation and knowledge transfer provided

Project-specific ecosystem-value conditions:

  • All code published as open source under Apache 2.0 license
  • NuGet packages published and installable from the public NuGet feed — including the codegen tooling itself and pre-built Canton.Splice.* reference bindings for the published Splice DARs
  • Integration tests passing against Canton LocalNet
  • API documentation site deployed and accessible
  • M4 ecosystem gates — adoption among regulated TradFi institutions (banks, custodians, exchange operators, asset managers) and external Canton applications using the SDK on mainnet — assessed per the deliverable + per-event tranche structure in M4 above
