Canton Editorial Team

What’s changing We’ve launched a new home for Canton Network’s documentation - making it easier to find, navigate, and build on Canton Network.  Canton developer documentation across Canton Network, Digital Asset, and Canton Foundation sites are now consolidated into a single entry point . Our goal is to help developers to learn, build, test, and launch faster - reducing the time it takes to go from first interaction to deploying a production-ready application. At the same time, we aim to provide clearer context on why to build on Canton Network, not just how, so developers can build more confidently with purpose. Why we’re making this change In our recent Q1 developer tooling survey, one theme was clear: documentation felt fragmented. Developers weren’t always sure: • Where to find relevant docs (Digital Asset, Canton Foundation, Hyperledger Labs, Splice) • Which documentation was the source of truth • How to navigate the end-to-end developer journey As the network has evolved towards a more open source, ecosystem-driven model, it’s important that the developer experience evolves alongside it. What this change delivers The full transition of Canton Network related docs to Canton Network channels is a direct response to the feedback. By consolidating into one place, we’re creating: • A single entry point   for all developers to get started - whether they are exploring integrations, spinning up a validator, or building an application. • Structured, role-based learning journeys with step-by-step guides based on developer goals and experience with Canton. • Dedicated guides   for developers coming from other ecosystems, e.g. Ethereum, that introduce the mental models and mindset shift required to build on the Canton Network • A unified, shareable narrative about Canton Network including the problem it solves, key use cases, and real-world applications. • Open source documentation on Git to enable community contributions developers can directly submit pull requests to improve, extend, and keep the docs up-to-date, ensuring that the content evolves alongside the ecosystem. If you see a gap you can point it out and even fix it yourself. In addition to content improvements, we’re also introducing AI-powered workflows to enhance the developer experience: • Built-in LLM support   with the ability to query natural language questions (e .g. how do I spin up a validator? ) to get clear, actionable answers grounded in our docs. • Markdown views  to easily bring documentation into external AI tools (integrations with Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity) without manually copying and pasting docs. What’s new for Digital Asset’s docs Digital Asset’s docs will now focus exclusively on Digital Asset’s products. New and improved docs will be available soon. If you’ve bookmarked pages impacted by this transition, you’ll see a banner that will guide to the relevant updated docs. What’s new for Splice docs Splice docs will no longer be updated and will be retired following a transition period. During this time, existing documentation will remain available to support users as they migrate to the updated resources. Start building on Canton, fast Whether you’re exploring, building, or running infrastructure, the new docs are designed to get you there quickly: • New to Canton?   Start with our learning modules to understand core concepts and architecture here . • Ready to build?   Jump into Quickstart and launch your application here . • Coming from Ethereum?   Explore the new EVM guide to understand key differences and how to adapt for building on Canton here . • Integrating wallets or exchanges?  Follow our best practices guides for integration here . • Running infrastructure? Learn how to spin up and operate a node with step-by-step instructions here . Source: canton.network
