Canton’s MainNet has adopted the shared contract models from Splice 0.8.0, completing a separate step after the release was cleared for software deployment in September. The live network rules changed on October 6 at 12:00 UTC. The new contract contains the package versions specified in the model-adoption vote , and that request is no longer listed among active votes. The change covers the shared packages behind Canton Coin, wallets, wallet payments, name services, validator operations and network governance. These define how those parts of the network work together. Splice is the software supporting the Global Synchronizer, which coordinates transactions across Canton applications. Its rollout has separate stages: operators install a release, then network votes bring specified contract and configuration changes into use. Splice 0.8.0 was cleared for MainNet deployment on September 21 , when two-thirds of Super Validator nodes had upgraded. The October 6 model change follows that readiness notice. Application teams using older packages can check the release notes for compatibility requirements. The package update does not by itself activate every feature included in the release. It is also separate from the planned October 10 move to CantonBFT. At the October 6 check, that migration’s scheduling vote remained open. The current MainNet rules show the adopted model versions.
