Canton Participant : Enforce Passive Replica

Hi Team,

The Canton documentation specifies that participants passive replica’s must be kept disconnected from a Domain in order to prevent the processing of Domain events - see the documentation here.

How is a passive replica kept disconnected from a domain? Is this handled by Canton or must this be handled by the operator of the participant ?

Hi Brian,

Canton ensures that the passive replica is disconnected from the domain, and handles connecting the replica to the domain if the replica becomes active. The participant operator doesn’t need to worry about this.
