Clean up DAR files

Following on a previous ask, (Clean up Previously Deployed Dar files on Daml hub), may I know if this applies to all daml ledgers (including canton) that we cannot remove the DAR files once uploaded? If the reason behind is that “there may exist contracts on ledger referencing templates from previous DARs”, is it still ok if we have archived all the contracts related to the templates on that DAR?

The latest snapshots have a preview API on Canton to remove DAR files, you can find more details in the docs. This isn’t yet included in 2.2 though and I expect it will still only be a preview feature in 2.3.

Following up a year later, is this now an available feature in 2.6 ? We have always wanted to remove old dars on Daml Hub, after we have migrated to a new dar, and all old contracts have been removed. This would prevent accidental creation of contracts on the ledger using the old package id.

It is still an early-access feature that is not avilable on Daml Hub afaik.
