New Web-based calendar

Today the Canton Foundation will publish a new version of the long-term Super Validator Operations calendar to the web at https://sv-cal.canton.foundation/

This new Web-based calendar will replace the Google Doc table that has served as the master calendar to date. The web-based calendar will now serve as the master calendar for Super Validator operations on the Global Synchronizer, including all upgrades.

The new calendar will contain several features designed to help operators and app providers plan and coordinate upgrades:

• The calendar will adopt a regular monthly pattern for upgrades. For example Protocol changes and their related Logical Synchronizer Upgrades will take place each month on a pre-defined date, and will be cancelled if a release is not ready that month.
• The calendar will show the dates of upgrades and other events well in advance, marked as “to be confirmed”, and will transition to confirmed status on a monthly cadence.
• The calendar includes a number of usability features, including
  • Views by month, week and day
  • Filters by network and by type of event
  • Dependencies among events
  • Shareable links to specific filtered views
