How are Canton teams handling production observability today?

We’re exploring whether there’s a real need on Canton for a smart contract operations layer focused on production analytics, monitoring, alerts, and transaction-level investigation.

Contract.dev already works as an operating console for live smart contracts, and before we invest in a Canton integration we want to understand how teams here are handling this today.

If you’re operating a Canton app in production, I’d be especially interested in hearing what you currently use for monitoring and operational visibility, whether dashboards and alerts are mostly built in-house, and what’s still painful when investigating incidents or unexpected behaviour.
