9d agoHi all,
We’re upgrading our DevNet validator from Splice 0.8.4 to 0.9.0 and the validator app won’t start.
What we’re seeing
- Participant 0.9.0 upgraded fine and is healthy.
validator-app0.9.0 keeps failing at startup when it fetches/api/scan/v0/dso-sequencers.- The Scan HTTP requests return
200 OK, butvalidator-apprejects most of the responses with:
UNAVAILABLE: No serial provided
- The BFT lookup then fails:
Bft call with 5 out of 9 matching responses
ConsensusNotReached
/api/validator/readyzstays at503.
What we’ve tried
- Rolling
validator-appback to 0.8.4 fixes it right away, and/api/validator/readyzreturns200. We’re staying on 0.8.4 for now.
Questions
- Is this expected on DevNet while 0.9.0 is still rolling out, for example because not all SVs have upgraded their Scan yet?
- If not, is there a prerequisite or config change we need before upgrading
validator-appto 0.9.0 that isn’t in the release notes?
Environment
- Network: DevNet
- Participant: 0.9.0
- validator-app: 0.9.0 (failing), 0.8.4 (working)
- Deployment: [Helm / Docker Compose]

8d agoIts probably was a bit too early to run upgrade to v0.9.0
SV readiness was reported like 10+ hrs after your post
Have you tried it again by now?
