Is there any way to get additional detail as to what Coin Metrics means by “integrate Canton MainNet data into their analytics products”? That’s a bit vague, not sure how to measure success there.
Thanks
Chris

It's a good question and I'm glad they asked. In response, I've attached a high level overview of what our Network Data product is in the pdf below. In general, we bucket Network data under the following segments:
- Addresses - Address metrics provide a proxy for users on a blockchain/network.
- Economics - Info on mining and potential valuation frameworks for a blockchain.
- Fees and Revenue - Data on how "cheap or expensive" transactions are and different fee dynamics.
- Mining - Difficulty, hash rate, etc. only when applicable.
- Network Usage - Metrics that measure blockchain network activity.
- Supply - Visibility into the total number of coins for a network/blockchain. (free float versus locked and distribution).
- Transactions - Summarize the movement of coins on-chain from one address to another and their value.
- Wallets - Represent groups of addresses that we estimate are owned by the same entity. In order to group addresses together, we employ a clustering methodology based on well-established industry standards.
As an example an asset like Ethereum has 450+ metrics we cover in our network data product, whereas something like XRP has about 120 metrics. Each blockchain as you know is different and so it requires a different lens to be used depending on use cases and the architecture of the chain itself. To finally answer the question given the above context, we don't know affirmatively the exact number of metrics we can cover on Canton over time yet. Once our node is up we can begin narrowing down which Canton data fits within the buckets listed above. As an example though, our institutional clients (and current and potential Canton users) will then be able to compare things like transaction sizes and transaction costs over time for Canton versus other major blockchains and understand the value propositions of Canon versus other networks.Happy to chat more on this if there are more questions and thanks for your help!Best,Ryan
