I realize this has already passed, but think a follow up discussion is merited.
I’d like to reiterate a concern we raised previously about the need to introduce a process to review the associated featured app activity regularly. The CIP itself recognizes there is a risk for misuse of the activity markers as well (“…FA providers are expected to created FA activity markets only for transactions that correspond to a transfer of an asset…”). I worry there is a chance that during the engineering process they don’t differentiate the transaction types and, as a result, include non-eligible transactions (either by mistake or intentionally).
If we need a subsequent CIP to introduce a workflow, I am happy to draft it. But here are the steps I suggest:
- As part of the FA status request require the app developer to provide:
- A list of each TX type it will conduct on the network, including which they would designate as FA eligible and which aren't FA eligible. Include with that an expected distribution.
- A report from test net activity that highlights these tx types and a reasonable alignment with the expected distribution.
- Post app launch (maybe 2 weeks) - The app developer provides a production report of activity breakdown to reconcile txs/FA awards based on expected activity. After the first 2 week check in, a similar report is provided for review on a regular cadence (monthly or quarterly)
- Tokenomics Committee creates a working group to review these reports and take corrective active as necessary.
This does create more work, but it would add more determinism to the FA designation/review and, I think, it is important for network health. Thoughts?
Thanks
Chris
