Cumberland DRW votes not in favor.
We believe that the potential weight awards is too high particularly relative to the volume thresholds.
The concept behind the CIP is something we can potentially be supportive of with some re-calibration of the weight/threshold criteria. I think a conversation during tomorrow’s call is merited.
Thanks

If you would prefer I posted this in cip-discuss, please let me know and I will. Given this proposal is in response to the original vote, I thought it most appropriate to post here.
Following the previous structure:- (NO CHANGE) Zero Hash ("ZH") Product Integration to Canton:
- Acceptance Criteria: ZH integrates Canton Coin and USDC issued on Canton into their product suite, may include other Canton based assets at their sole discretion.
- Deadline: +180 days from CIP approval
- Potential Weight Earned: 2.5
- Note: May need to consider starting the timeline around when natively issued USDC is available.
- (NO CHANGE) Education, Social, and Events:
- Acceptance Criteria: ZH conducts at least on of each by the deadline (Webinar, White Paper, Social Media Amplification, Joint Event).
- Deadline: +90 days from CIP approval
- Potential Weight Earned: 0.5
- (NEW) Canton is the Exclusive Privacy-enabled Settlement Blockchain for ZH:
- Acceptance Criteria: ZH exclusively leverages Canton for privacy-enabled on-chain settlement whenever technically possible.
- Deadline: +180 day days from CIP approval
- Potential Weight Earned: 0.5
- Note: We used the "technically possible" language to address situations where an asset isn't available on Canton but aren't particularly attached to that clause.
- (MODIFIED) Adoption Incentives:
- Acceptance and Deadlines: described below.
- Potential Weight Earned: 4.0
- Details:
- 1.5 weight available during months 1-6 post integration with Canton. 0.25 weight available for each unique customer that settles > $125M of volume on Canton up to 1.5 weight total.
- 1.0 weight available during months 7-12 post integration with Canton. 0.5 weight available for every $500M of volume settled on Canton up to 1.0 weight total.
- 1.5 weight available during months 13-24 post integration with Canton. 0.75 weight available for every $1B of volume settled on Canton up to 1.5 weight total.
The total potential points for this structure is 7.5.This approach does the following:- Maintains the integration incentive.
- Introduces an incentive for exclusivity which we believe is merited for this type of integration.
- Extends the adoption incentives timeline and increases the volume thresholds to align with longer-term, more material adoption.
- Maintains participant diversity in the first 6 months of the adoption incentives, but pivots to just the notional threshold over the longer term to allow for a situation where a small number of customers significantly grows their utilization of Canton. Seems like a good balance between diversity of adoption and depth of adoption.
We're very interested to hear the group's feedback so please chime in. Ideally, assuming the group comes to consensus on this, we would be able to get feedback to ZH before the end of the week.ThanksChris - (NO CHANGE) Zero Hash ("ZH") Product Integration to Canton:
- toggle quoted message Show quoted textHi Chris,
Thanks for putting this together—Five North is supportive of the modifications.
I believe the tiered, stepwise incentive model and the 24-month timeframe align well with the network's goal
and also provide ZeroHash sufficient space to drive volume as they scale their business. If they manage
to drive volume sooner, still great for everyone.

- All -Yiannis and I had a chance to speak with Edward from ZH earlier today and talked through the proposal changes. He shared some feedback, portions of which I think merit some changes to what I proposed a few days ago. Based on his feedback, I believe they are ready to accept the following (including the standard KPI/escrow structure, etc.)For avoidance of doubt, I reposted each of the elements but the only changes are in Adoptions Incentives Similar principles and numbers, but some modified constructs on how to establish the thresholds.

- Acceptance and Deadlines: described below.
- Potential Weight Earned: 4.0
- Details:
- Phase 1:
- Timeline: From the first day of solution live on mainnet until the end of the 6th month afterwards.
- Available Weight: 1.5
- "Unlock Criteria": ZH onboards 6 customers across at least 2 different use cases from the below list (one of which must be payment processors/providers) and each of those customers conducts at least $10M in on-chain transactions.
- "Earn Criteria": Provided the Unlock Criteria is met, they earn 0.25 weight for each $125M notional volume their customers transact on mainnet up to 1.5 weight/$750M notional.

- Available Weight: 1.5 weight
- 0.75 weight earned for every $1B of volume settled on Canton up to 1.5 weight total

- This volume is independent from Phase 1 and Phase 2 as there is no timing overlap.
- The volume counter starts at 0 and begins incrementing with the first transaction conducted as of month 13.

Yiannis and I had a chance to speak with Edward from ZH earlier today and talked through the proposal changes. He shared some feedback, portions of which I think merit some changes to what I proposed a few days ago. Based on his feedback, I believe they are ready to accept the following (including the standard KPI/escrow structure, etc.)
For avoidance of doubt, I reposted each of the elements but the only changes are in Adoptions Incentives Similar principles and numbers, but some modified constructs on how to establish the thresholds.
(NO CHANGE) Zero Hash ("ZH") Product Integration to Canton:
Acceptance Criteria: ZH integrates Canton Coin and USDC issued on Canton into their product suite, may include other Canton based assets at their sole discretion.
Deadline: +180 days from CIP approval
Potential Weight Earned: 2.5
Note: May need to consider starting the timeline around when natively issued USDC is available.
(NO CHANGE) Education, Social, and Events:
Acceptance Criteria: ZH conducts at least on of each by the deadline (Webinar, White Paper, Social Media Amplification, Joint Event).
Deadline: +90 days from CIP approval
Potential Weight Earned: 0.5
(NO CHANGE) Canton is the Exclusive Privacy-enabled Settlement Blockchain for ZH:
Acceptance Criteria: ZH exclusively leverages Canton for privacy-enabled on-chain settlement whenever technically possible.
Deadline: +180 day days from CIP approval
Potential Weight Earned: 0.5
Note: We used the "technically possible" language to address situations where an asset isn't available on Canton but aren't particularly attached to that clause.
(MODIFIED) Adoption Incentives:
Acceptance and Deadlines: described below.
Potential Weight Earned: 4.0
Details:
Phase 1:
Timeline: From the first day of solution live on mainnet until the end of the 6th month afterwards.
Available Weight: 1.5
"Unlock Criteria": ZH onboards 6 customers across at least 2 different use cases from the below list (one of which must be payment processors/providers) and each of those customers conducts at least $10M in on-chain transactions.
"Earn Criteria": Provided the Unlock Criteria is met, they earn 0.25 weight for each $125M notional volume their customers transact on mainnet up to 1.5 weight/$750M notional.
Use Case Verticals: Retails Wallet Providers, Payment Processors/Providers, Payroll Providers, and Fund/Trading.
Phase 2:
Timeline: From the first day of solution live on mainnet until the end of the 12th month afterwards.
Available Weight: 1.0
0.5 weight is earned for every $500M of volume settled on Canton up to 1.0 weight total.
For avoidance of doubt:
Yes, this does overlap with Phase 1
This volume must be above and beyond the first 750M from Phase 1. The count would start at $750,000,001.
Their earn could start in month 1 if they quickly exceed the $750M from Phase 1.
Phase 3:
Timeline: From the months 13-24 after the solution is live on mainnet.
Available Weight: 1.5 weight
0.75 weight earned for every $1B of volume settled on Canton up to 1.5 weight total
For the avoidance of doubt:
This volume is independent from Phase 1 and Phase 2 as there is no timing overlap.
The volume counter starts at 0 and begins incrementing with the first transaction conducted as of month 13.
This maintains the diversity and duration the group was interested in, but provides ZH a little more flexibility in places. Please share any questions/thoughts.
