validator-announce1 messagesstarted 29-05-2025
- The major upgrade with downtime from Splice 0.3.21 / Canton 3.2 to Splice 0.4.0 / Canton 3.3 ON DEVNET took place on Wednesday 28 May 2025, and has been adopted by all Super Validators as of today.
ACCESSING THE RELEASE:
The Super Validators have access to this release and have staged nodes running it in preparation for tomorrow's upgrade.Validators may access the Splice 0.4.0 release notes via this link:https://docs.dev.sync.global/release_notes.htmlValidator Operators may also access the release bundle, Helm charts and Docker images in the usual registries.Note that process this is different from regular weekly asynchronous Splice upgrades. Regular Splice upgrades will resume on a biweekly basis after this upgrade, and then move back to weekly updates some time later.
OLD SYNCHRONIZER
The current version of the Global Synchronizer will become the “prior” or “old” version once the upgrade completes. This older version will remain active for at least 12 days after the synchronizer upgrade to Splice 0.4.0 to allow time for your node to catch up fully if it happened to be down during the upgrade, or if you’re not able to upgrade right away.
APPLICATION UPGRADES
The Super Validators encourage application operators and wallet providers to operate a node on DevNet and TestNet in addition to MainNet, to give them an opportunity to practice these major upgrades before they go live on MainNet.Preview of the changes introduced by Canton 3.3 can be found in the Canton 3.3 release notes here:
