Short description of Applying Institution :
DeFi Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: DEFT) (CBOE CA: DEFI) (GR: R9B) is a financial technology company bridging the gap between traditional capital markets and decentralized finance ("DeFi"). As the first Nasdaq-listed digital asset manager, DeFi Technologies offers equity investors diversified exposure to the broader decentralized economy through its integrated and scalable business model. Are there any other emails you wanted added to the slack channel?:

Please provide information about why you believe you qualify to operate Validators in the Canton Network and why you would prefer to do this yourself instead of using one of the existing operators. :
DeFi Technologies possesses extensive expertise in blockchain infrastructure and centralized finance. Operating our own validators aligns with the strategic vision of being an active participant to further advance the mission of decentralised finance through contributions towards areas such as governance, security, and transparency. Currently, we operate nodes on numerous blockchains including Solana, Pyth, Core, and Cardano.

Contact at an existing Node Operator who will sponsor your onboarding process:
    Digital Asset (Jacob McCrum)

How did you hear about us?:
We had been following the Canton network for some time, as it was brought to our attention by DeFi’s former Chief Strategy Officer Diana Biggs, initially from conversations with the Goldman Sachs Digital Assets team in London when they chose to build on DAML, and became increasingly interested in Canton as a potential solution for institutions looking to achieve the benefits of public blockchains while maintaining the necessary controls enabled with private networks. More recently, through conversations with Cumberland and the Global Synchronizer Foundation.

How do you plan to further contribute to the Canton ecosystem? :
Going forward, as a participant in the Canton ecosystem, we would look to add value in multiple ways. Firstly, we would like to explore opportunities for bringing assets onchain. This aligns well with our growth strategy for bringing DeFi and traditional finance, as we’re currently advancing major initiatives in Real World Assets (RWAs). Most recently, we partnered with the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) to develop and launch the Kenya Digital Exchange (KDX), a fully regulated platform for tokenised real world assets. Looking ahead, we aim to further contribute to the Canton network by supporting additional RWA initiatives, as well as potentially building and / or helping to bring relevant applications onto the network, for example from our venture portfolio and from our network of partners.
