    Validators should plan to join DevNet when the Super Validators announce that DevNet is ready for joining, which will be soon after 9 am US Eastern / 13:00 UTC.

    Understanding the reset:

     

    A DevNet Reset takes place when one Super Validator takes down its DevNet node, and starts a new synchronizer with Migration_ID 0 and a new chain id suffix, then invites other Super Validators to join the new synchronizer.  The Super Validators do this to clean up DevNet (which tends to accumulate dead Validator nodes) and reduce the cost of maintaining it.

    For this DevNet reset, Digital Asset will kick off the reset process. DA will take down all of its DevNet Super Validator nodes Wednesday morning Zurich time, and have a new DevNet ready a few hours later. Then the other Super Validators will tear down their current DevNet nodes and join the new DevNet synchronizer. Validators can begin to join soon after. The old DevNet will go silent once enough Super Validators make the move. 

    To give DA plenty of time to complete the DevNet setup, they've shifted the joining time to 9:00 am US Eastern / 13:00 UTC, rather than 10:00 UTC as previously announced. Other Super Validators will join into the new DevNet starting at roughly 9 am, and an announcement will go out to Validators once the Super Validators conclude that the new DevNet is ready for Validators to join. This announcement to Validators will go out soon after 9:00 am US Eastern.

    Validators are free to join the new DevNet throughout the next few days. It's a good idea to complete this process before Monday 7th July, so your DevNet node is ready for the next upgrade.
