Short description of Applying Institution: Jabre Capital Partners is a Geneva-based independent wealth and asset management firm founded in 2006. Since 2016, we have been active investors in the digital asset space, deploying capital across funds, protocols, and companies driving innovation in the crypto ecosystem. Our platform combines traditional asset management expertise with a forward-looking approach to blockchain technologies, enabling us to participate in and support the growth of leading projects and networks.
Why self-operate: We are an investor in D2X, a company in the Canton ecosystem, through one of our funds. As part of our broader digital asset strategy, we are committed to deepening our involvement in the Canton ecosystem. To achieve this, Jabre Capital will partner with our portfolio company, Firstset, a specialist in validator operations across many leading blockchains. Firstset brings technical expertise and operational reliability, while we provide institutional investment experience and a long-term commitment to ecosystem growth. Together, we view Canton as the next step in our strategy: everything we do in crypto infrastructure at Jabre Capital, we execute through Firstset. This partnership ensures we can contribute to Canton securely, effectively, and with full alignment as validator operators.

How did you hear about us?: Through Yuval / the Canton foundation
How will you contribute?: We have a vast network in both the credit / hedge fund universe as well as the crypto universe through several employees at our family office. We have been involved in the crypto space since 2017 and helped several prominent funds today actually set up their fund structure. But, I would think most of how we can help is our network in the hedge fund space. One of Silver Point’s cofounders (Robert O’Shea) was one of the first people to spur activity in the secondary market for leverage loans and we believe that one of the best use cases / areas of focus for Canton may actually be the settlement and transfer of corporate loans as the agency model today is archaic. But we also believe that we can make some key introductions in the high yield / distressed / derivative space as many of these more illiquid products cost so much money to settle and take way to long. It is in the best interest of these funds that are paying +1 million dollars a year to settle these transactions to see canton succeed and we believe we can be a part of making that happen.
