    Hi all,

    I'm reaching out from WinNode, a blockchain infrastructure operator running validators across 28+ networks, including live Canton infrastructure.

    We've submitted a Development Fund proposal — Canton Validator Operations & Observability Toolkit (COOT) — and are looking for a Tech & Ops Committee champion so it can move into review.

    What it is, in one paragraph: COOT is a vendor-neutral, open-source operations + observability toolkit for Canton validator / participant / super-validator nodes. It packages the operational layer every operator currently rebuilds from scratch — a derived-metrics exporter, curated Grafana dashboards, a documented alerting rule library, backup/restore automation with checksum-verified restore, tested disaster-recovery runbooks, and Helm packaging. It is read-only and additive (it never modifies node binaries, the protocol, ledger state, reward logic, or traffic accounting) and is a permanent public good, not a proprietary product.

    Why it's credible now: the Milestone-1 surface already exists as a runnable prototype (link above) — `docker compose up` brings up the full stack against a node. The funded milestones harden and broaden it (full validator/SV coverage, tested DR, Kubernetes packaging).

    It aligns with the Node Deployment & Operations SIG and the Q2 priorities around operational simplicity, SV monitoring, and resilience.

    Would any Committee member be willing to champion this, or advise on the best next step? I'm glad to present the prototype, refine the milestones/scope, or align it with any related ongoing work.
