Seeking a Champion for Roil’s Canton Development Fund Proposal
Hello,
I’m reaching out to introduce Roil’s proposed Canton Development Fund project and to ask whether a suitable Tech & Ops Committee member would be interested in reviewing and potentially championing the proposal.
Roil is proposing the development of an open-source, reusable Canton-native liquidity primitive, alongside a Roil reference implementation demonstrating how the infrastructure can be integrated into a real Canton application.
The proposal focuses on two connected workstreams:
Workstream A: Reusable Canton-Native Liquidity Primitive
- Liquidity state management
- Pool and reserve accounting
- Asset integration boundaries
- Liquidity provision
- Quote calculation
- Authorization-controlled swap execution
- Settlement and validation
- Automated testing and Canton network validation
- Technical documentation
- Independent security review, remediation, and open-source release
Workstream B: Roil Reference Implementation
- Integration of the reusable primitive into portfolio and treasury workflows
- Asset and pool interactions
- Swap and settlement workflows
- End-to-end testing and demonstration
The project is planned as a 16-week program with a funding request of 800,000 CC, distributed across four milestones.
The primary goal is to create a reusable public-good component rather than funding a closed application feature. Roil would serve as a practical reference implementation for the open-source infrastructure.
We are currently looking for a suitable Tech & Ops Committee member to act as Champion in accordance with the Development Fund process.
If anyone is interested in reviewing the proposal or believes there is a suitable person or SIG we should contact, I would greatly appreciate an introduction or guidance.
