    Hi everyone,

    I hope you’re doing well.

Thank you, Amanda, for your helpful guidance and for directing me to this community.

I’m pleased to introduce myself and share a potential Scala contribution for your feedback.

My name is Ayush Kumar Mishra. I’m an independent developer with over 10 years of experience in distributed systems, financial technology and blockchain. My background includes Scala/Akka development for Bank of America Merrill Lynch trade workflows through Knoldus, production Daml experience at Knoldus, and ecosystem engineering at Parity Technologies.

Recently, I built several projects involving Daml/Canton:

    My GitHub: https://github.com/ayushmishra2005

I’m exploring a new open-source contribution under RFP 17 — SDKs in different languages, whose mention of Scala aligns closely with my experience:

    https://github.com/canton-foundation/canton-dev-fund/blob/main/2026-2028-strategic-roadmap.md

I understand that Canton already has Scala Ledger API components and maintained Java bindings/codegen. I’d like to build on existing work and address a concrete gap.

    Could the community please advise:

    • Which missing capabilities would be most useful to Scala application developers?

    • Would extending the existing Scala components or building on the Java client be the preferred approach?

    • Are there related efforts I should coordinate with, or potential champions interested in helping shape the scope?

I would be happy to prepare a short project outline based on your feedback.

Thank you for your time and guidance.

    Best regards,
    Ayush Kumar Mishra

    Hi Ayush,

Thank you for reaching out and for your interest in contributing to the Canton ecosystem.

Please forward your inquiry, including the background and project links you shared, to grants-discuss@.... This will bring the discussion to the Development Fund community for input on the proposed scope, coordination with existing efforts, and potential champions.

    Much appreciated!

    Hi  everyone,

    I hope you’re doing well.

I wanted to follow up on my inquiry about a potential Scala client contribution under RFP 17. I’m still interested in contributing and would appreciate any initial guidance on the most useful gaps to address and any existing efforts I should coordinate with.

If there is a specific maintainer or SIG best placed to discuss this, could you please point me in their direction? I’d be happy to arrange a brief call or share a short project outline.

Thank you for your time and help.

    Best regards,
    Ayush Kumar Mishra
