Canton 3.5.16 has been released on September 03, 2026.

Summary

What’s New

Bugfixes

  • Added additional validation of the request timestamp in confirmation response processing.

CantonBFT

  • Peer-to-peer networking does not support gRPC load balancing nor health-checking because the ordering protocol itself provides resilience, however they were mistakenly enabled and caused confusing log messages.
  • In some cases the P2P network status console function was reporting outgoing connections as incoming connections.
  • When performing catch-up download multiple epoch’s at the same time.
  • Minor improvements to the segment flush internal logic
  • Only fetch topology state for events that may alter sequencer-relevant state

Improvements

  • ACS commitment processor reinitialization will now use a smaller memory footprint due to a leaner loading of contract-ids.
  • Extended Ledger JSON API spec (openapi.yaml) with documentation for the user-paid traffic enforcement endpoints (/traffic/accounts)
