Proposal: Reference Implementation of Settlement Pattern and Reference DEX Implementation for Canton
Development Fund Proposal Submission
Proposal file: /proposals/reference-implementation-of-settlement-pattern-and-reference-dex-implementation.md
---
Summary
This proposal requests funding for an open-source reference implementation of a settlement pattern and a reference DEX on Canton using Daml and TypeScript. It gives the ecosystem a reusable, production-shaped example for building trading, prefunded order, and liquidity workflows directly on Token Standard V2 and registry-backed instruments, with a public testnet deployment and builder documentation. ---

Notes for Reviewers
This proposal is intentionally scoped as a reference implementation, not a universal exchange framework and not a bid to replicate full Uniswap V2/V3 feature parity. Milestone 1 builds on already-defined workflow direction from TradingAppV2, registry workflows, and the proposed PR 5333 allocation extensions, while the main funded work is turning that source-driven design into a reusable open-source reference with hardening, documentation, testnet operation, and external adoption proof points.
