Summary
The Wallet Gateway Reference Implementation is a secure, vendor-neutral middleware bridging user validator nodes, institutional key stores, and CIP-0103 compliant dApps. This infrastructure directly accelerates Canton Network adoption by enabling self-service institutional onboarding, allowing enterprises to securely manage real-world assets via a standardized "Clear Signing" interface without bespoke integration cycles. By decoupling signing services from application environments, the Gateway increases ecosystem velocity and eliminates redundant engineering for developers. Furthermore, it elevates zero-trust security by replacing centralized identity providers with self-signed OIDC tokens, granular access controls, and cryptographic transaction verification. To ensure guaranteed ROI, the proposal ties part of the grant request to a performance-based adoption bounty, paying out strictly upon verifiable integrations to eliminate upfront risk for the Foundation.
