Proposal: Canton Fast Lane
Development Fund Proposal Submission
Proposal file:
/proposals/canton-fast-lane-sequencer-channel-signaling-reference-toolkit.md
Summary
This proposal requests funding for an open-source low-latency signaling reference toolkit for Canton-connected systems using sequencer-channel style transport. It gives the ecosystem a safe, reusable pattern for non-final coordination such as RFQ negotiation, readiness handshakes, and operational signaling, while keeping all final business commitments on the normal Canton and Daml execution path.

Notes for Reviewers
This proposal is intentionally scoped as coordination-plane infrastructure, not a settlement layer or Daml replacement. The main deliverable is a JVM channel adapter plus TypeScript SDK, with explicit safety boundaries, recovery behavior, and reference integrations that show how fast non-final signaling should hand off into normal ledger-backed Canton workflows.
