Summary
This proposal introduces the Canton Validator Portal — a unified, open-source operational platform designed specifically for Canton Network validators. https://validator-portal-neon.vercel.app check dashboard at https://validator-portal-neon.vercel.app/dashboard
Today, validator operations are fragmented across spreadsheets, chat tools, and manual API queries, creating inefficiencies in monitoring, communication, upgrade coordination, and compliance tracking. Despite the network scaling to 980+ validators and supporting trillions in on-chain value, there is no dedicated operational infrastructure for the entities that run Canton nodes.
The Canton Validator Portal addresses this gap by providing:
- Real-time node health monitoring with alerting
- Historical reward tracking and analytics
- Structured Foundation-to-validator communication hub
- Upgrade coordination workflows with readiness tracking
- Validator compliance dashboard aligned with Foundation requirements
- Multi-environment visibility (DevNet, TestNet, MainNet)
- Public validator leaderboard with performance metrics
This platform acts as the operational layer between raw Scan API data and professional validator management, complementing existing tools like CantonScan, The Tie, and CC Tools without replacing them.
The portal directly improves validator efficiency, network reliability, and ecosystem transparency while reducing operational overhead for both validators and the Canton Foundation.

Notes for Reviewers
- Strategic Importance:
This proposal targets core infrastructure operators (980+ validators), representing a significantly larger impact surface than governance-only tooling like the Grants Portal.
- Clear Gap in Ecosystem:
Unlike Ethereum, Solana, Cosmos, and Polkadot, Canton currently lacks any dedicated validator operations platform. This proposal fills that critical gap.
- Non-Overlapping Scope:
The portal is intentionally designed to complement—not compete with—existing tools: - CantonScan → block exploration - The Tie → network analytics - CC Tools → reward calculations - Validator Portal → operations + coordination + compliance
- Foundation Benefits:
- Structured, auditable communication replaces Telegram/Slack/email chaos - Upgrade coordination becomes measurable and trackable - Compliance tracking becomes automated instead of manual
- Adoption & Success Signals:
- Target: 50+ validators within 3 months, 100+ by full rollout - Designed to scale to 1,000+ validators and 50+ NaaS providers
- Open Source & Extensibility:
Fully open-source (MIT/Apache 2.0), enabling NaaS providers and institutions to self-host, extend, and integrate into internal systems.
- Funding Justification:
While the Grants Portal allocates 660,000 CC for governance workflows, this proposal serves the operational backbone of the network. The requested 750,000 CC reflects broader impact, ongoing maintenance needs, and direct contribution to network reliability. <img width="2940" height="1912" alt="image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/1e07dbc6-0ea1-4fc3-b799-e77211f0fa76" /> <img width="2940" height="1912" alt="image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/6f39e10c-07c8-4b55-a7ed-992962ef51fa" /> <img width="2940" height="1912" alt="image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/5c141cea-5fe5-4e12-9a81-1616631d5e1c" /> <img width="2940" height="1655" alt="image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/192c9817-f9d2-402b-81e9-8b4436eb6648" /> <img width="2940" height="1641" alt="image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/4e485dfa-215d-41a5-a714-7cd063957df6" />
