Proposal: Atomix, Open-Source Order-Book Exchange Infrastructure for Canton
Development Fund Proposal Submission

Summary
Atomix is a non-custodial order-book exchange stack for CIP-56 token-standard assets on Canton: an off-chain matching engine with sub-1ms matching paired with on-chain settlement through token-standard workflows, so custody, settlement, and the traded assets stay on the ledger. It is the exchange infrastructure behind Nexode, a prediction market venue in production on Canton mainnet since May 2026. This proposal funds open-sourcing the stack under Apache-2.0, hardening it for third-party operators with a public reference deployment on testnet, migrating settlement to Token Standard V2, building a browser trading frontend, and supporting external adopters, with the largest share of the request gated on independent venues going live on the stack.

Notes for Reviewers
- SIG alignment: defi-liquidity.
- Champion: open to any Tech & Ops Committee member organization; determined during committee review.
- The work aligns with the App Building and Developer Experience, DeFi liquidity, and Security and Resilience priority areas. Because only settlements reach the ledger, a high-volume venue adds settlement and token-standard activity without flooding the synchronizer with order-level messages.
- 42% of the request (Milestone 6) is contingent on external adoption: per-venue and completion tranches paid against independent venues live on the stack, excluding K2F's own applications.
- Milestone 1 is partially retroactive, recognizing the production-validated stack alongside the open-sourcing work.
