Summary
Canton Participant Workbench is an open-source PQS-to-UI layer that translates raw Daml contract data into human-readable views for compliance officers, auditors, and operations staff — the non-technical institutional users who currently have no way to act on their private ledger data without engineering support. The fund deliverables are two reusable npm libraries (@canton-workbench/pqs-connector and @canton-workbench/pqs-decoder), a published compliance export schema, and a production-ready reference frontend that any Canton participant or node operator can deploy against their own PQS in under an hour. By shipping open source software rather than a single-institution integration, this proposal lowers the cost of building compliant Canton applications for every future developer in the ecosystem. The team intends to build a hosted commercial product on top of these open-source components; that work is entirely separate from and out of scope for this proposal.
