Hey everybody. So in this video I'll be showing you how to deploy your daml project or your canon project using C port on top of a canton devet validator or aka on canon devet. So I already have a guide here available for all the builders out there. Uh if you're participating in a hackathon that's great. So you can just follow this guide and just follow me through. So first thing first we will go to the right link. We need to go to the app.devet.cport.io

  2. 0:31

which is the devnet cport link. We'll go here. Once you come here, all you need to do is log in using your five north loop wallet. You click either you scan using your phone or just click yes. Once you click yes and you're already logged in, you just approve. Now, if you are asking how to get an invite code for the five north dup wallet. So if you are in a hackathon just ping the organizer either me or anybody from the candle foundation team on discord of the

  3. 1:00

hackathon specifically or just raise a issue in the particular readme file which I have shown you and then you will get an invite from us already or if you're building on canton you'll definitely get an invite from us on cboard port. So once you sign you allow it not going to show you my private key and done. So when you come back now you're already signed in on your account on C port which is the best thing. Now we'll go to the hackathon on which we

  4. 1:32

will be deploying. So first for example if you are in a E global hackathon all you need to do is just make sure that you either import your entire project that you have built on GitHub or you start building your smart contracts on C port. Treat it like as you would do on a remix ID. for us in this demo, we are just going to use one of the pre-built templates.

  5. 1:53

We'll type test demo and then we'll create a new project. So once you create a new project, you can now go to the DAML folder here and all of the TAL files are here. So basically you can start developing your entire Canton Tamil project in this interface. Once that's done, you just build project like this by click on this button. It builds your entire file into a DAR format uploadable file. Right? As you would see in Tamil,

  6. 2:25

you have a test demo 10100 DAR. What it is. Now this DAR file will help you to deploy your entire project on top of DevNet. So now all you need to do is click deploy. Now use the updated DAR file. So you might do some modifications and then you again build the project, right? So make sure that you select the most updated tar file. Select the validator which is going to be the five north sandbox validator here. But if you are in a hackathon where foundation has

  7. 2:57

provided you with another validator it will automatically appear here. So just whatever validator that appears here use that. You can of course if you already have your validator you can use your own validator on devet to deploy your file.

  8. 3:11

So it's not mandatory but if you don't have then foundation provided one but if you already have a develop validator you can of course go to settings and change configurations about your own validator but here we will just click deploy we'll confirm the deployment and we'll wait.

  9. 3:28

So now the whole thing is actually deploying on top of the five north devet validator known as five north sandbox but it's not sandbox is actually a genuine devet validator hosted by five north. So now deployment summary is done deployment completed and congratulations you have actually done deployment successfully. So we close it we have deployed it and we have built our project on c port in a hackathon very easily. Now you might be asking me how

  10. 3:59

to then interact with your smart contract. So now you have output, you have the build history, you have the project history. Build history is here. Now if you go here your home, you have the active contract. Under active contracts, you have active contracts and active contract query where you can see the contracts available on top of your validator and can interact with them very easily. So let's just say we go to

  11. 4:23

active contract query. We select the five node sandbox validator and this is our validator party. We can just provide more of this responses and when we fetch the data we have a raw JSON file here. But yeah, you'll be able to see the deployment here. But I mean again you can just query your active contracts very easily. Just make sure that you know how to interact with your old contracts or if you specifically wants to interact

  12. 4:58

with your contract, you can get your package ID, module name and everything is already in your smart contract. Right? But you can get your package ID, enter the module name, enter the template specifically on which you need to interact with. If you we go to test demo, right? If you go to the contract manipulation, right? So this is your module name and now you want to interact

  13. 5:23

with a specific template right let's just say you want to interact with template so you can use the module name this template name this you can get the package ID after deployment or from your DAR file already and then you can just active and then you can start interacting with the network but yeah this is how you would basically use C port to interact with an active DAML project and if you have any issues do

  14. 5:47

reach out to the right P from the Canton Foundation specific to the devil team on your point of contact channel. I guess yeah that's what we are looking forward to and if you don't find any way to reach out to us you can always go to forum.canton.network for help. So till then have a good one.
