Visualize Canton Network Metrics with Custom Dashboards | Tutorial #3

   a dashboard, a custom dashboard for ourselves. There's a couple ways you can do it. One, uh, from data messenger, you can just ask a simple query. Let's just go app rewards by party. Let's just say yesterday. Okay. So, we want all the app rewards by party yesterday. Get your information here. Of course, you you end up getting a lot of zeros in there. So, again, you can filter that out if you want to.

   Greater than zero. Okay. And then we have our information back 42 rows. Now, what I can do is if I want to create a dashboard out of this, I just say add to dashboard. I can add it to one of my existing custom dashboards or I can create a new one that I will just call test for now. Then what happens is when I create it, I have my test area here.

   Okay, I got my dashboard tile with the natural language query in here. I can label I can title it however I want to. If I want to call this app rewards by party uh yesterday or whatever it may be, you can title it however you want to. If you decide to change the query up a little bit, you can rerun it as well, add an additional column. So, a lot of it functions just like the data messenger database as well. Okay, but

   maybe we want to take a look at something like this. Okay, which is just the total amount proportionally which we have here. And then let's say we do want that percentage uh that was shown in the previous video. We can add in here this custom function this percent of total uh percent of total. And then now we end up having uh that numerical value as well. Save the column. Then uh you here you can chart to make sure you got the percent of total. Okay. And then let's

   say we do want to have the the pie chart. Then you can have the pie chart as a percentage of total. Okay. So I can I can title that. I can do whatever I want to. I can redimension it from size-wise. And then when I'm happy with my dashboard, I can just hit save. Now you'll see the dashboard is saved here with the other dashboards. If I want to take a look at into this information here, I can click uh if I want to take a look at this one, it will return me

   again the underlying app rewards information that I could see in this case for Cumberland. If I want to take a look at uh you know, let's say the DA utility, I could click on that and then it'll return all those rewards uh that were issued as part of that. Okay, so that's kind of how you create. The other piece you can do too is if you go into edit mode, you can also add a tile here.

   And then it's the same type of thing. You can take a query and put it in. Let's say maybe we want to do validator rewards. This one here, validator rewards or number of transfers or whatever that that particularly looks like. Okay, you set it up there. You run the query and now you get your information back from here. Okay, you can again pick different visualizations.

   Uh there's a lot of different pieces. And then let's say you want to get a threshold that's kind of above the livveness rewards. Let's just kind of call that for now greater than 26,000. Okay. Now you have your filter completed there. Uh and at that standpoint, again, you can do your percentage of total uh or you can just pick a chart. Um sort it. We'll sort it first before we chart.

   And then you can see here you now have your chart. And again, drill downs everything else. When I'm happy with it, I can save it and then it's actually there. Okay. At any time uh you know you want to edit it, you want to edit the title, you can edit the title right up here as well. Okay. So that's custom dashboards. You can build them from data messenger or directly in here. And then you have your general uh dashboards as

    well. So these are ones that are just everybody has access to. They can utilize them. It's got all the drill downs and all that other type of information as well. If you're looking at certain transfers from different providers as an example, um these ones are all available to everybody. If there's additional information that you would think would be important that everybody sees uh at Sync Insights, they

    can just easily create these new ones and publish those in a very very simple way. Uh from there, okay, there's resource usage of course and purchasing. So if you're looking at traffic purchases because of course you always want to be uh pretty careful with uh you know bandwidth and and that type of stuff as well you can look at uh the the providers are or really the app minting here uh you can take a look at all that information and charts as well again do

    the drill downs and then at any time you can do the custom ones as well. So this is a custom one I have taking a look at minting efficiencies uh of some of the uh you know applications as an example and if I want to uh take a look at minting efficiency of of one of them I can pick let's just we'll pick intellectu here uh and then I can select on that it will do the drill down and will go grab all of the information so basically each of the different rounds

    how many app coupons was issued to them the number of app rewards they got and then of course they it does the calculation on the app minting efficiency from there. So you'll be able to see a lot of that information too. These are custom ones I built but I'm happy to share the the queries associated with those as well. Uh and again these can be changed up. You can put them in charts if you if you want them sorted from you know top top to bottom. Uh you can do that here. That'll

    persist. uh or if there's only specific ones you want to look at, you can do the edit the dashboards as well uh from this standpoint. Okay. And then kind of last one is if you want to use very specific uh value labels or the unique names, you can do things like this. So this is looking at the validator rewards. Uh and if I just said chat main one and chat main 2, it will add those together. So if you want to separate those, you can just put by party. So it'll just grab chatain one, chatain 2 and do it by

    party. I titled it here and then you have you get the information as part of it. Just like data messenger, it shows the interpreted as. So it's showing the user how it how it actually gets done. But at any time you can um you can adjust those as you see fit as well. And then the other piece which works both in dashboards and data messenger is sometimes you get really long uh party IDs. So if there's a particular long one to type out, you'll see the right click uh to copy. So I can rightclick that.

And then if I want to take a look at let's say all transfers uh you know this hour or yeah let's say this uh hour 4 and then I just paste it in there right for that particular party from there. And then I do in the case of transfers want to mention provider, right? Cuz there's also senders and receivers. So now if I did that information, you'll see it rightclicked it. It shows me here.     I'm looking for. Uh and I have all of that type of information. Then at any time during a query session, if I want to lock this if I'm building dashboards, then I can just paste that in. And then what what it'll do is it'll say, okay, well, I know this I know this string here. I see it as a node, a provider party, I see it as a sender party. And then one can pick those, which then locks the filter, which just means any

    any question you ask will automatically come up uh with this. Uh you don't have to ask it every single time. So there's a few different ways to get the information you need. And again, at any time with the list data, you can chart this uh totally different uh as well. So if you want to take a look at fees or anything like that, you can chart it.

    And then when you want to create the dashboard out of it, you can just add it to the dashboard area as well.
